Days in Hong Kong - Seafood in Sai Kung

I like Sai Kung. It may be teeming with weekend dwellers, many of whom are daytrippers making their way to the nearby islands via the jetty, there's still a sleepy, laid-back charm about it.

Life seems to move at a slower pace in this part of Hong Kong.

And of course, the fresh seafood!

Introducing Phoebe

There's a new feline addition to our household.

She's grey, with patches of ginger and she has beautiful, light green eyes.

She's a 8-9 months old stray, whom we now affectionately call Phoebe.

Adopting her, was serendipity.

My Twitter followers would know I had my eyes set on this Ragdoll male cat which was being given up for adoption on the Cat Welfare Society adoption board. But he went to someone else who contacted the owner before me. When my friend found out about my disappointment, she suggested adopting this female kitty in her neighbourhood (she knows I love dogs and thought her manja personality would suit me).

She's smart, naughty (she caused our Christmas tree to topple at least twice so far) but she's also a super sweetie.

I love the way she 'talks' to herself, her kneading actions when we pet her, the nom nom nom sounds she makes when she enjoys her food, the way she rolls on her back like a dog whenever she sees us and how she comes out of her room to sit outside the bathroom, when I take a shower.

I have always wanted a dog and never thought I could feel the same way about a cat, but Phoebe has proven me wrong

We've only had her for 10 days, but we're smitten. I can't wait to learn her other idiosyncrasies.

Now pardon this infatuated pa(w)rent, for the overdose of kitty photos below.

Days in Hong Kong - On the Dragon's Back

The 3 hour trail (section 8 of the Hong Kong trail) starts off at Shek O Road and finishes at Big Wave Bay. Judging by the undulating terrain, it's not hard to guess why the trail is called Dragon's Back.

Days in Hong Kong - Caffe Habitu

We had a nice coffee break at Caffe Habitu, situated right inside the Causeway Bay G.O.D (Goods of Desire), after some window shopping at the lifestyle concept store.

The cosy cafe

Nice cup of earl grey latte

Besides a wide selection of coffee, Caffe Habitu also serves food and desserts. It's a lovely place for resting those tired legs, after a day of shopping.

Long time no blog

Oh wow. Has it really been a month since I last blogged?

I've been really busy at work but now that we've  entered the last month of the year, I hope there'll be a slight lull as people start to take their holiday breaks. Can't wait for the year end festivities and our much awaited holiday, to wrap up an eventful 2011.

But first, to finish up my Hong Kong entries!
